off the coast, seconds after take-off, all 9 people on board died 1960 Sept 19th. Guam: World Airways DC6-B 1960 October 4th. USA, Massachusetts, Boston Harbor: Eastern Electra crashed and exploded after takeoff; 62 people
died, 10 survived 1960 December 16th. New York, Brooklyn: United DC-8 from Chicago to Idlewild and TWA Super Constellation from
Dayton to La Guardia Airport collided in fog over NYC, crashed in two boroughs, 134 people died, 1 child survived  1960 December 17th. Germany, Munich: A Twin Engine Convair 346 experienced engine difficulties a few minutes after take-off from Munich/Riem airport. The plane struck the tower of a downtown church and crashed into a major street. Burning fuel set fire to a tramcar. All 20 people aboard the pane and 32 passengers of the tram died. 1961 January USA, New York: Aeronares de Mexico airplane, few people died 1961 February 15th. Belgium, Brussels (Berg?): Sabena Boeing 707 crashed, 72 people on board and 1 resident died 1961 May 10th. Libya, Ghadames: Air France Starliner 1961 July 11th. USA, Colorado, Denver-Stapleton Airport: United Airlines DC-8, flight 859 with 129 people on board experienced an hydraulic failure during the flight; during an emergency landing at Stapleton airfield two tires blew out, forcing the plane to veer off the runway. It crashed into construction equipment and caught fire; Fire-fighting and rescue efforts were initiated by an understaffed and ill-equipped ARFF department, using vehicles from the 1940's. Calls for assistance from nearby Lowry USAF base and city fire companies were delayed. 1961 July 12th. Morocco, Casablanca: Czechoslovak Ilyushin-18 1961 July 16th. Cameroon, Douala: Trans-African British Caledonian DC-7C 1962 March 16th. Pacific Ocean: Flying Tiger Super Constellation 1962 May 22nd. USA, Iowa/ Missouri Border: Continental Air Lines Boeing 707, mid-air explosion due to a suicide bomber, all 45 people died 1962 June 3rd. France, Paris: French Boeing 707 airliner crashed, 130 people died 1962 June 22nd. West Indies, Guadaloupe: Air France Boeing 707 1962 July 7th.India, Bombay: Alitia DC-8 1962 November 27th.Peru, Lima: Vvarig Airlines Boeing 707 1962 December 14 USA, California, Los Angeles, Laurel Canyon: A Lockheed Super Constellation crashed into a residential area and came to its final rest short of a 100-unit apartment building. Impact and fire damaged 29 other buildings; all 5 people aboard and at least 3 persons on the ground died. 1963 February 1, Turkey, Ankara: Mid-air collision of a Lebanese Middle East Airlines Vickers Viscount 754 and a Turkish Air Force Douglas C-47; the aircrafts felt into separate parts of the city; all 17 occupants of the planes were killed; on the ground 87 people died and more than 50 were injured.
1963 February 12th. USA, Miami: Northwest Airlines Boeing 720, broke up in flight over the Everglades shortly after
takeoff from Miami Airport, all 43 people died 1963 June 3rd. USA, Alaska, Anchorage: Northwest DC-7 charter 1963 September 4th. Switzerland, Zurich: Swissair Caravelle III, flight SR 206 en-route from Zurich to Geneva; one of the landing wheels broke away during take-off, the wheel's brake mechanism overheated while high engine power was used during slow taxiing on the ground; this caused an undetected fire in the retracted port undercarriage, while the aircraft was climbing; the intensifying fire caused a loss of power for the control systems and structural damage; the plane finally came to a steep dive and crashed into a farm; all 80 people aboard died.
1963 November 27th (29th?). Canada, Montreal: Trans-Canada jet airliner DC-8F crashed, all 118 people died 1963 December 8th. USA, Maryland, Elkton: Pan American Boeing 707 coming from Baltimore, was struck by lightning, igniting fuel vapor in wing reserve tank, mid-air explosion during landing approach at Philadelphia; all 81 people on board died
1964 February 29th. Austria, Innsbruck: British Eagle International Britannia 1964 March 1st. USA, California, Lake Tahoe: Paradise Airlines Constellation 1964 May 7th. USA, California, near Oakland: Pacific Air Lines Turboprop Fairchild F-27 crashed, suicide killer shot the pilots, all 44 people died 1964 July 9th.USA, Tennessee, near Pariottsville: United Airlines Vickers Viscount 745D crashed after an in-flight cabin fire, all 38 people on board died 1964 September 4th. Switzerland, Zurich: Swissair Caravelle III, caught fire after takeoff from Zurich, all 8 people died 1964 October 2nd. Spain, Granada: Union transports African DC-6 1964 November. Italy, Rome: TWA Boeing 707, Flight 800 (!) exploded on the airfield

Braniff International Airways BAC-111 en route to Omaha, NE was caught in flight by
extreme gust, that caused the starboard wing to rupture and fuel vapors to explode;

after take off in very bad weather conditions (snowstorm), all 82 people died 1966 December 24th. South Vietnam, Binh Thai: Military-chartered C-44 crashed into village, 129 people died 1967 February 10th. Switzerland: SwissAir CV-440 crashed during training mission, 4 people died 1967 April 20th. Cyprus, Nicosia: Swiss Globe Britannia crashed into mountain, 126 people died 1967 June 3rd. France, Pyrenees: British Air Ferry Ltd. DC-6 1967 June 3rd.U.K., Stockport, near Manchester Ringway Airport: a British Midlands Argonaut plane (British version of a DC-4) on a charter flight from Palma, Majorca crashed on landing approach into the center of Stockport, a suburb of Manchester. The plane broke up on impact; police and others from nearby offices started rescuing survivors within minutes. After about 10 minutes a major fuel explosion took place and engulfed the fuselage in flames. Local fire service were unable to control the blaze and numerous passengers trapped with broken legs and other injuries perished in the fire. 72 of the 84 people aboard died

USA, Florida, Miami/Everglades: Eastern Airlines Lockheed L-1011 Tristar with 176 occupants crashed during landing approach into the swamp 14 miles west of the Miami International airport; despite a tremendous, non-survivable impact, 77 people survived, 60 of them with severe injuries, 99 persons died.

Switzerland, Basel: BEA Vanguard Turboprop crashed into a wooded hillside during landing approach at 1973 July 11th. France, Paris: Brazilian Varig Boeing 707(727) enroute from Rio de Janeiro crash-landed 3 miles short of Orly airport after a cabin fire, that started had in a lavatory: 122 people died (most of them due to smoke inhalation), 10 crewmembers and 1 passenger survived
1973 July 31st. USA, Massachusetts, Boston: Delta Airlines DC-9 crashed on landing at Logan Airport, 88 people died, 1 1973 November 3rd.USA, Massachusetts, Boston: PanAm Cargo Boeing 707 crashed landed short of the runway after an in-flight fire. All 4 crew members died.

Taiwan, Taipei: Far East Air Transport Vickers 837 Viscount crashed during a thunderstorm, 27 people died, 48 survived.
1975 August 3rd. . Morocco, Agadir: chartered Alia Boeing 707, returning Moroccan workers home after vacation in 1975 November 12th.. USA, New York, JFK Airport: overseas national DC-10, engine explosion and fire during take-off 1976 February 8th.USA, California, Los Angeles, Van Nuys: A chartered DC-6 crash-landed on a golf course near Van Nuys Airport; while using a rotary saw to free trapped occupants leaking fuel ignited and injured 10 firefighters. Three flight crew members died on impact, while the three members of the cabin crew escaped with only minor injuries.
1976 April 17th. USA, Virgin Islands, St. Thomas Airport: American Airlines Boeing 727 from JFK landed on St. Thomas Airport, overshoot the runway and crashed into a gasoline station; 37 people died, 51 survived, only a few of them sustained severe burn injuries.
1976 May 23rd. Philippines, Mindanao, Zamboanga Airport, Philippine Airline BAC 1-11, hijacker hold aircraft on the 1976 August 6th. USA, Illinois, Chicago: Air Chicago Freight Aircraft, a converted B25 bomber crashed during an emergency landing at Midway airport; 2 pilots and 1 person on the ground died.
1976 September 10th. Yugoslavia, Zagreb: Mid-air collision between British Airways Trident and Yugoslav charter DC-9, 1976 December 25, Thailand, Bangkok: Egyptair Boeing 707 crashed on landing approach into a industrial area 1.5 miles short of the runway. All 53 people aboard and 19 on the ground died. 1977 January 13, USSR, Kazakh Republic, Alma-Ata Airport: Aeroflot Tupolev Tu-104 crashed on landing approach 2 miles short of the runway after experiencing an engine fire; all 90 people aboard 1977 March 27th.Tenerife, Los Rodeos Airport: Pan American Boeing 747 (394 people on board) landing and KLM

1979 October 7th. Greece, Athens Airport, SwissAir DC-8 overran the runway after landing because of rainy and slippery 1979 October 31, Mexico, Mexico-City, Benito Juarez Airport: Western Air Lines DC-10 collided with a dumpster truck while landing on a closed runway, crashed into airport buildings and caught fire. 72 people died, 17 survived, 15 of them with injuries. 1979 November 26th. Saudi Arabia, Jidda, Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 707, carrying pilgrims returning from 1979 November 28th. Antarctica, Mount Erebus, New Zealand DC-10 crashes in the mountain, all 257 1980 March 14th. Poland, Warsaw, LOT Polish Airlines Ilyushin 62 crashed while attempting landing, 87 people died 1980 April 25th
Spain, Canary Islands, Tenerife: Dan-Air Boeing 727, crashed into mountainside during
landing approach at Tenerife Airport, all 146 people aboard died 1980 August 19th. Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, Saudi Arabian Lockheed Tristar made safe landing while burning, but
passengers were unable to escape, all 301 people died 1981 February USA, California, Orange County, John Wayne Airport: Air California Boeing 737 crashed during landing 1981 December 1st. Near island of Sakhalin off Siberia, Korean Air Boeing 747 flight KAL-007, shot 1983 November 8, Africa, Angola, near Lubango: Angola Airlines Boeing 737 crashed shortly after takeoff and exploded on impact; all 130 people aboard died. 1983 November 26th. Spain, Madrid, Colombian Avianca Boeing 747 crashed near Mejorado del Campo Airport, 183 1983 December 7, Spain, Madrid, Barajas Airport: Ground collision of an AVIACO DC-9 and a IBERIA Boeing 727 in heavy fog. All 42 people aboard the DC-9 and 51 occupants of the 727 died. 42 persons survived, with 30 of them sustaining injuries. 1984 Feburary 28th. USA, New York state, Jamaca SRS DC-10, ended up 600 feet from runway in Thurston Bay *1985 June 23rd. North-Atlantic, Air India Boeing 747, mid-air explosion, all 329 people died *1985 August 2nd. USA, Texas, Dallas/Fort Worth, Delta Air Lockheed Tristar crashed in a storm near the airport, 134 *1985 August 12th. Japan, Mount Ogura/Tokyo, Japan Airlines Boeing 747, crashed into a mountain after takeoff, 524 1985 August 26th. U.K. Manchester Airport, British Airtours Boeing 737, crased during debature and lost and engine on the runway during debature, jet fuel ignated immediately 140 people were aboard, 55 people died.  *1985 September 6th. 1987 October 14th. Africa, Angola near Kuito, Zimex Aviation Hercules was shoot down, 5 people died 1987 November 15th. USA, Colorado, Denver, Stapelton Airport: A Continental Airlines DC-9 crashed on take-off in a snowstorm due to insufficient de-icing; off the 82 people aboard 28 died and 54 survived with injuries
